This is a computing term used to identify software versions. Usually 1.0 is the starting point and varieties of this version are called 1.1, 1.2 etc. A new starting number is used when it is a piece of software different to the first (though bearing the same characteristics).
By calling the 10:30am service 2.0 we are signifying it is different to the current service, though it holds some of the same components-commuion, singing, prayer and preaching).
2.0 will have these elements but in a different format. The seating will allow for discussions through the service; newer music (using cd's for now) will be used and especially an emphasis on songs that share the whole of life's experiences-not just the happy ones; the preaching will not just be a twenty minute monologue from the person at the front, but a chance to ask questions and share ideas and we are aiming not to be confromed by our building or structure but allow God to use us in other ways.
2.0 is NOT the Church, the people who may come to it are the Church. 2.0 is a service designed to help all people (even if you don't call yourself a "Christian") discover who God is and how you can know him.
Every two months we will join with the 9am service for our combined service.
